Last night, Geely’s AI intelligent technology launch conference came to an end, becoming the third independent car company to popularize high-level intelligent driving after BYD and Changan. The highlight of this is Geely’s Qianli Haohan safe and high-level intelligent driving system, which has planned five levels: H1, H3, H5, H7 to H9.
The larger the number, the stronger the smart driving ability. For example, the entry-level version of Qianli Haohan H1 has a computing power of 100Tops, while Qianli Haohan H9 has computing power of more than 1000Tops, preparing for landing L3. The functions are gradually upgraded from the initial high-speed NOA and automatic parking, commuting NOA, map-free city NOA, full-scene D2D, until it is L3. Obviously, Geely is similar to BYD, and will gradually decentralize entry-level smart driving, continuously cover more models, and promote equal rights for smart driving. Geely believes that true intelligent driving is not just a pile of functions, but more importantly, empowering security through AI technology. The competition for Zhijia has gradually shifted from the “showing skills” in the first half to the “popularity” in the second half. 01 The top priority of the press conference already has the L3 mass production capabilities is the smart driving solution officially released by Geely – Qianli Haohan, and it is also the unified smart driving solution for all products under the Geely system in the future.
According to intelligent driving ability, it is divided into five levels: H1, H3, H5, H7 and H9. The entry-level version of H1 supports high-speed NOA and automatic parking APA, while H3 not only supports high-speed NOA but also supports urban commuting NOA and memory parking. At the H5 stage, the end-to-end model is used, and it has the ability to pilot intelligent driving from all scenarios to parking spaces, such as high-speed NOA, urban map-free NOA, parking HPA and other capabilities. It is also the first-tier intelligent driving level in the industry. Based on H5, H7 has added MLM big model and digital pioneer network. In addition to achieving urban map-free NOA, it can also realize the ability of parking VPD.
It is worth mentioning that the H5 level of Qianlihu, that is, the D2D parking space to parking space pilot assist version, will be officially pushed on a large scale in March, supporting complex road links such as gates and ETC. The H7 level with the VLM big model will also be pushed this year. As for the most advanced H9, in Geely’s words, it is a safety architecture completely prepared for L3 intelligent driving. Not only did it join the VLA big model and digital pioneer network, it also used the dual Thor chip with the largest computing power in the industry, the top 13V5R(X)L multi-lidar sensor, and it has advanced intelligent driving functions such as urban map-free NOA, high-speed NOA and parking VPD. At the same time, the “Qianli Haohan” H9 is also the industry’s first L3-level intelligent driving solution with mass production and implementation capabilities.
It is not difficult to find that compared with the level 3 solutions of friendly companies, Geely Auto has added two end-to-end VLM and VLA paths to improve the upper limit of smart driving, which is also the mainstream practice in the field of smart driving to increase the upper limit of smart driving. It should be noted that at this press conference, the part of Qianli Haohan High-level Intelligence Drive was spoken by Chen Qi, former vice president of Zeikr Intelligence, and there was a new title at this press conference – the chief scientist of Geely Holding Group Intelligence Drive, which also pointed out that the intelligent driving of the entire Geely system is likely to be coordinated by Chen Qi or Zeikr Intelligence Drive.
“Qianli Haohan H1” will be the first to be equipped with the Galaxy E8 and Galaxy Star 8 that were officially launched at this press conference, and it is standard for the entire series, which can achieve NOA leadership in urban areas and high-speed driving. In the second half of this year, Galaxy’s new and modified cars will be equipped with the upgraded version of “Qianli Haohan H3”. Moreover, in the second half of this year, Geely will also release a flagship product supported by top computing power, with the corresponding solution being “Qianli Haohan H7”. It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of this press conference, Gan Jiayue once again responded to the previous Taizhou declaration, announcing that the Geely Galaxy series was officially upgraded to the Geely Galaxy brand, and Geely Yizhen Automobile was officially incorporated into Geely Galaxy, becoming Galaxy’s high-end electric MPV series.
With Geometry, Yizhen has joined Galaxy one after another, and Galaxy Automobile has also become the second largest automobile brand under the Geely system. Covering sedans, SUVs and MPV products, this is not enough. Geely Galaxy will also launch hard-core off-road vehicles in the future. After Geely Galaxy upgraded from series to brand, Geely announced that both new and facelifted products will be equipped with smart driving solutions of different levels of thousands of miles, which means that Geely Galaxy will realize “all-series smart driving”. Of course, all preparations are for sales. Gan Jiayue said at the press conference, “The Geely Galaxy brand will move towards the million-dollar Galaxy era with comprehensive and leading intelligent technology.” In other words, this year, Geely Galaxy’s sales target will achieve 1 million vehicles. 02 Why did Geely name its smart driving plan “Thousand Miles of the World”? This is closely related to Qianli Technology, the cooperative developer of Qianli Haohan Intelligent Drive System.
According to Geely’s explanation at the press conference, “Haohan” represents Geely’s intelligent driving ability and experience in the industry, while “Qianli” represents the industry-leading big models and computing power. In other words, “Qianli” is AI, and “Haohan” is a car. When it comes to Qianli Technology, many people may be unfamiliar with it. Qianli Technology was called Lifan Technology before it was renamed, and the current helm is Yin Qi. Yin Qi, who graduated from the Yao class of Tsinghua University in 2010, founded Megvii after graduation. Later, Megvii became famous with the facial recognition algorithm that surpassed Facebook. Later, Face++ became the earliest AI business card in China and became one of the “Four Little Dragons of AI”.
The speech at this press conference was also the first time that Yin Qi made a public speech as the new identity of “Chengli Technology Chairman”, and he outputted a lot of practical information. Interestingly, on the eve of the press conference, Qianli Technology and Geely just established a joint venture company. The joint venture was established by Geely Jirun, Qianli Technology, Chongqing Maichi, Lotus and other parties. The new company is tentatively named “Qianli Zhihua”; among the joint ventures, Jirun, Chongqing Maichi, and Qianli Partnership each account for 30%, while Lotus accounts for 5%. The most important thing is that these companies have more or less transferred their Zhijia R&D technology to Qianli Zhijia, and the meaning is self-evident. 03 AI entrepreneur Yin Qi sits in the array According to the AGI five-level development framework proposed by OpenAI, L1 is a chat robot with dialogue ability; L2 is a reasoner who can solve problems like humans; L3 is an agent who can take action; L4 is an innovator who assists in invention and creation; L5 is an organizer who completes organizational work. In Yin Qi’s view, the current AI technology is leaping from the L2 “reasoner” to the L3 “agent” stage. It is the industry consensus that it will become the year of the explosion of Agent’s application in 2025. This trend will be the first to ignite the application of Agent in cars, making cars truly transform from “travel tools” into “travel smart life bodies”. By then it will not be a car + AI, but AI + car. In other words, in the future, cars will not only be smart driving, but also the first robot carrier with the most powerful brain in the true sense. How to become an “AI+car”? Yin Qi shared three major trends, namely supernatural human-computer interaction, full implementation of autonomous driving and automatic execution, and the magnitude upgrade of the Internet of Vehicles model, which also correspond to the next three aspects of Qianli Technology’s cooperation with Geely.
For human-computer interaction, Qianli Technology will work with Geely to create the next generation of cockpit operating system Agent OS. It has three technical features: Supernatural dialogue, Agent OS, cross-domain collaboration, and will be released within this year. In terms of autonomous driving, it is naturally the newly launched “Thousand Miles and Great” intelligent driving system at this press conference. Next, the industry’s first L3-level intelligent driving solution with mass production capabilities will be equipped on Geely models. Yin Qi believes that the big model still has a lot of room for imagination to empower the car end. “If we compare the current mainstream smart driving model in the industry with the cutting-edge base model, we will find that there are two or even three orders of magnitude improvements in computing power, algorithms and data consumption between the two. The real AI model is one or two generations ahead of the intelligent models in cars. This means that we have just begun in the field of “AI+cars” and have huge potential and space. In the future, we will see Scaling Law in cars and witness the ChatGPT moment.”
So the third trend, in its opinion, is the magnitude upgrade of the Internet of Vehicles model, which is why Geely has such a strong digital capability hard-core support. Geely joined forces with Geely Technology ecological partners including Step Yuexingchen, Qianli Technology, Xingji Meizu, Time and Space Daoying, etc. to establish the world’s only “Smart Automobile Computing Power Alliance”, namely Xingrui Intelligent Computing Center 2.0, whose comprehensive computing power has been increased to 23.5EFLOPS.
Such computing power has ranked first in China and second in the world. In comparison, the computing power level of companies such as Huawei and Xiaopeng is 10EFLOPS. The key is that all these companies have in-depth layout of basic large-scale models and have built the industry’s first “AI+car” full-scene intelligent technology ecosystem. The most important thing is that in the three trends proposed by Yinqi, Geely has already served some “appetizers” in terms of AI technology system. From the Intelligent Computing Center, to Thor Super Electric Mix, Smart Chassis, Smart Cockpit, Xingrui Big Model 2.0 (comprehensive computing power of 23.5 EFLOPS, the first in the country), to accessing DeepSeek, step multimodal big model, etc.
It can be seen that what Geely wants to build is not just “intelligent driving”, but a complete set of automotive intelligent ecosystems. This is also why Geely dares to claim that it is the only car company in the world that has completed the intelligent layout of AI in the entire region. At the same time, Geely’s self-developed AI-Drive large model has powerful scenario generation and planning capabilities, and can generate any scenario and data that meets algorithm training, achieving the generation of complex driving conditions of “10,000 kilometers level” every hour. This “world model” of fusion of virtual and real can increase the efficiency of intelligent driving training by 30 times. In addition to intelligence, Geely also announced an Easter egg after the press conference – the price reduction of Galaxy’s entire series of products.
The 2025 Geely Galaxy E8 has a limited-time first-time enjoyment price of 149,800-198,800 yuan, which is 16,000 yuan cheaper than the old model. The prices include Galaxy E5, Star Wish, Galaxy Star Ship 7 EM-i, etc., and the prices have been greatly reduced. In view of smart driving equal rights, Geely has also begun to attack with all its strength.
